Dr. Mark Cartwright

Dr. Cartwright was appointed by Governor Abbott on November 1st 2021 to serve as a board member for the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

Dr. Cartwright is the founder and CEO of Carewright Clinical Services (CCS). CCS is a mental health organization providing mental health services throughout Texas and the United States.

Dr. Cartwright is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. He completed his undergraduate study at Ohio University in the undergraduate psychology honors program and earned his Master’s and Ph.D. in School Psychology from The Ohio State University.

As a postdoctoral fellow in the Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, he was trained as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and Clinical Psychologist providing evaluations and therapy for children and adolescents.

As a Postdoctoral Fellow, he provided therapy and a variety of clinical evaluations to children and adolescents with mood and anxiety-related disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety, and School Refusal.

In addition, he was part of the Autism Clinic and conducted psychoeducational and psychological evaluations specializing in the diagnoses of Autism, Asperger’s Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.

Dr. Cartwright is also a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology and completed his APA-accredited Doctoral Internship in the Fort Worth Independent School District. There he was trained in School-Based Multifactored Evaluations, IEP planning, group and individual therapy, crisis intervention, and consultation.

Currently, Dr. Cartwright provides psychological and forensic evaluations along with psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. Dr. Cartwright specializes in the diagnoses of Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD, Alzheimer’s Disease, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and other serious behavioral and/or mental health disorders.

He administers a variety of psychological assessments including intelligence/psychoeducational, neuropsychological, forensic, immigration/bilingual, and presurgical evaluations for Spinal Cord Stimulator procedures and bariatric surgeries. He also helps with IEP planning and can provide a needed Special Education classification for your child.
